Our Graffi Capresi collection has expanded and welcomed the lobe earrings, the latest style created to show all our love for the four-legged friends that have crossed paths with ours and are now part of us! Equally strong is the love our designer, Maria Alberino, feels for Luisa, the most popular cat of the Piazzetta... she lives right there, having her shelter in Mediterranee Passioni boutique; or the adoration for Martin, the very first kitten Maria welcomed to her home; and the fondness for Milly with her irresistible eyes. But the list goes on with Chanel, Wendy, Ughina, Sammy and Lisa: every furry friend that bumped into Maria’s life left such a mark as to become a jewel.

A certain background The origins of the earring date back to very old times: it seems it was one of the first accessories used to adorn the human body! Just to give an example, the wealthiest among the ancient Egyptians would wear this jewel to highlight their social status, the very same Egyptians who worshipped cats (or better, the Mau) as sacred animals. But this is just a coincidence, isn't it?
Over time, passing through various flows in popularity and different symbolical attributions, the earring has taken on the task of representing a trait - if not the whole - of the wearer’s personality and tastes. “Free as a Cat” is the claim of these exclusive designs, whose income partly supports Best Friends, an Association engaged in the assistance of the many cat/feline colonies present throughout Capri island, where Mediterranee Passioni has its only headquarters.
